Farmhouse. Late C17-early C18, with mid-late C18 and C19
extensions. Coursed squared and dressed limestone with dressed
quoins. Stone slate roof with ashlar stacks. Rectangular main
body with C19 extension to right gable end. Mid-late C18 extension
runs parallel to the main body at rear. Main body; two storeys
and attic lit by a single 2-light eaves dormer with leaded panes
and slate hung sides. Three-windowed facade; two late C19, two-
storey canted bays with 16-pane sashes at the front, 8-pane sashes
either side. Single 2-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned
casement with horizontal glazing bars between the two bays, C20
part-glazed door with glazing bars below. C19 two storey, 2-bay
extension to right with a lower roof line is lit by 2 and 3-light
wooden casements with leaded panes. Mid-late C18 extension at rear
is lit by 2 and 3-light wooden casements, some with horizontal
glazing bars, some with leaded panes, all within cambered-headed
surrounds. C20 fielded panelled door with a flat canopy supported
on moulded brackets. Doorway inserted C20, canopy moved from front
of house. Protection insurance plaque over door.
Interior; main body contains an open fireplace with wooden
bressumer and the remains of two inglenook seats both within
recesses with curved heads (Barrington Park Estate).
