SO 90 NE DUNTISBOURNE ROUSE -

GV II

Small detached house. c1890. Random squared rock-faced
limestone; dressed windows and doorways; timber framing to upper
floor; stone-slate roof; dressed stone chimneys. 2-storey, 2-
room, with single-storey flat-roofed addition at back.
Picturesque front with half-hipped gable to right, and hipped end
to east continuing down to outshut: off-centre doorway with main
roof extended to form porch supported on heavy, curved timbers and
stone corbels; plank door in moulded stone surround. To left 2-
light chamfered mullioned window; similar 4-light to right with
oriel in timber framing above; below oriel in shield panel B
surmounted by coronet; leaded casements to windows. East side
has gabled upper floor dormer. At back 2 tall chimney stacks with
double slotted caps. This building is the northern entrance lodge
to Cirencester Park (q.v. Cirencester U.D.).
