House. Late C17, enlarged C18. Datestone 1764/CJA on right side. T-plan with
wing projecting to right of centre at rear. Coursed squared ironstone,
artificial stone slate roof, stone and rendered stacks. 2 storeys, attic and
cellar; 5 bays. Cellar window in second bay from left, of 2 lights with stone
mullion and moulded surround. Doorway to right of centre has plain stone
pilasters, wooden pediment and 6-panel door with panelled reveals and overlight
with intersecting glazing bars. C20 round window with plain stone surround to
right. Two C19 four-pane sash windows under same wood lintel in right bay and
second bay from right, 2 sash windows with wood lintels to left. Similar windows
in left bay and second bay from left on the first floor. 8-pane sash window
above entrance. Two C19 four-pane sash windows under one wood lintel in right
bay and second bay from right. Coped gable ends with kneelers. 3-light
stone-mullioned windows with straight moulded hoods to ground and first floors
on left side, and similar 2-light window to attic (ground floor window is
blocked). Squared staircase projection with hipped roof on right side at rear,
has C17 one-light windows with moulded stone surrounds to ground and first
floor, Rear wing C17, similar materials. Two storeys; 3 bays. 6-panel door with
wood lintel and panelled reveals. Casement windows with wood lintels, and coped
gable end. Interior: C17 section of house to left of entrance has set of
stop-chamfered beans and open fireplace in ground floor room, and moulded spine
beam and plain joists in the kitchen. Old closed well staircase on left side.
C18 main staircase with turned balusters and curved hand rail.
