Public House. Probable late C17 origin. Early C18 front, altered and
extended C19. Originally timber framed. Brick casing, whitewashed. Slate
and tile roofs. 2 storeys. Original 5 bay front with central entrance,
now blocked with a small window below cambered head. Plinth. Ground
floor: to left 16 pane glazing bar sash with cambered head, gabled
entrance porch addition further left. Plat band over ground floor on 2
left bays. To right: large projecting C19 canted bay to ground floor.
First floor: 16 pane glazing bar sashes in deep reveals with blind
opening to right of centre. Extended by one bay to right in C19 with
entrance and first floor sash. Steeply pitched hipped roof; slate to
front, tile to rear. External right end stack with offsets, 2 stacks to
rear. 1 storey gabled extension to right, tiled roof and
weatherboarding. C20 1 storey rendered lean-to extension to left.
Catslide over rear extensions. Interior: ground floor remodelled, some
first floor cased beams.
