GV II

Gatelodge, now a private house. Mid C18, heightened early C19. Grey
brick with steep hipped red tile roof. A small picturesque 16 storeys
lodge with semi-circular E end facing road. This end has a wide full
height recessed panel on each side of the central door, and is executed
in header-bond. A 2-lights flush mullioned wooden window with leaded
lights and plate casement symmetrically on each side of door in the
recessed panel, with segmental arch. Flat gauged arch to door and tall
gabled dormer window over on peak of steep semi-circular end to roof, in
front of central red brick chimney. Bargeboards and 2-light casement
window to dormer. A door and 2 similar leaded mullioned windows to each
long side of the house. Formerly the gatelodge to the mansion called
Offley Holes, now gone.
