Country House. Circa 1900 by Sir Ernest George. Queen Anne
Revival. Red brick. Machine tile roof. H plan. 2 storeys and
attics. Flush sash windows and continuous wood modillioned eaves
cornice. 2-window gable ended projections with giant Ionic brick
corner pilasters. 5-window centre. Entrance elevation has
central projecting porch bay with Holborn gable and narrow attic
light flanked by panels. 2-panel door with deep panelled hood
slung from iron bars. Fruit carved pilasters and scrolled
brackets. Bulls eye window above and to right gable end. Ground
floor windows have triangular brick pediments. Hipped 3-light
dormers. 2-storey wing on left side joins with front wall at
semi-octagonal stair turret with ogee lead roof. Garden
elevation has 6-column Doric loggia between projections, and
triangular and segmental headed dormers. Plain square tower on E
elevation and 2-arched-light conservatory on W side.
