House, formerly forge. Late C16, extended C17. 3 timber framed
bays. C18 or C19 painted brick exterior. Tile hung upper floor
with patterned courses. Plain tile roof with taller S section.
N section has central square red brick stack. 2 storeys and
attics. 5 oak mullioned casements. 1 hipped attic dormer.
Interior has moulded axial floor beam to centre bay. Fireplace
oven to N bay,former forge. S bay has chamfered floor beams and
joists, and roof with straight wind braces. (Hatfield W.E.A., pp
