House. C17, altered in C18, C19 W extension and single storey rear
service wing. Timber frame with brick at ground floor and roughcast
above. Old red tile roof. 2-storeys, 2-cells, end-chimneys central
entrance plan house with E end outshut. 3 windows to each floor. Door
now moved to W from original position. Large gable chimneys with
oversailing caps. E chimney larger and projects. 2- and 3-light casement
windows. String course at floor level above brick lower part. Box frame
timbering with curved braces to undulating tie-beams. Clasped-purlin
roof with collar and queen-strut trusses. Infill may be wattle and daub.
Ground floor in C18 red and black tiles. Wainscotting. Chamfered axial
floor beams with stepped hollow stops. Open fireplace and old staircase
preserved under present stair. (Roberts(1975)No.13).
