Description

TIDENHAM B4228, TUTSHILL
ST 59 NW
(west side)
9/218 Church Cottage
GV II
Detached cottage. Mid C19, possibly by Woodyer, architect for the adjoining church
(qv). Large square rock-faced sandstone, roof of plain or bevel-cornered tiles.
1½ storeys, 1 + 2-windowed, all 2-light chamfered mullion casements, to small
gablets at first floor and under moulded and stopped drips to ground floor; between
bays 1 and 2 a porch with coped gable and saddle stone, side lights, plank and strap
door. In gable, left, a 2-light casement as ground floor front. Large external
stack to right and ridge stack left of porch. Externally this cottage looks
untouched from its original design, and it is a significant adjunct to St Luke's
Church (qv).
