Astley Hall Lodge

Lodge east of Astley Hall. Late C19-early C20. Stone ashlar, slate roof. Jacobean style, single storey, with shaped end gables and raised verges to gable at rear, projecting central gabled porch has Tudor archway, set in square headed architrave with open spandrels and heavily moulded label with decorative lozenge-shaped stops; porch gables bears coat of arms; three-light stone mullioned and transomed windows either side of porch; corners of building are chamfered. Right hand return has stone mullioned bay window with rounded central light. Presumably by the architect of Astley Hall (qv) - note similarity of bay windows.
