Barn and cowhouse, now store. C17, extended mid-C19. Sandstone rubble
with some brick dressings, roof is half-hipped at south-east end and of
plain tiles and corrugated iron sheeting. Nine bays aligned north-west/
south-east. Partly two levels. Original part comprised of five south-
easternmost bays having central wagon bay with opposed cart entries. The
walls have two rows of ventilation slits. The main south-west elevation
has a ground floor window, a loft door and two doorways at the south-eastern
end. Extended in two stages by two two-bay additions at north-west end.
The earlier addition has openings with brick dressings and cambered heads.
There are two loft openings, two doorways and a large doorway on the south-
west elevation. The later addition has a square opening on both floors
and a doorway. Interior: original part has a collar and tie-beam truss
with three struts and a V-strut above the collar at its north-west end.
Otherwise roof has mainly intermediate collar and tie-beam trusses with
two struts and/or raking struts across lower corners. The building encloses
the yard to the rear of Humber Court (qv). Included for group value.
