KNIGHTON ON TEME
Damson Tree Cottage

(Formerly listed as Granary Cottage about 15 yards south-west of Hilltop Farmhouse)

Granary, now house. c1600, restored late C20. Timber-framed with brick infill, replacement walling and plinth; plain tiled roof. Two framed bays aligned north/south. Two storeys.

Framing: three panels from sill to wallplate, collar and tie-beam truss with four struts and V-strut in apex at north gable end. Windows are all C20 single-light casements. East entrance elevation has a pair of windows on both floors and three additional first floor windows; two ledged and battened doors, one to each bay. Attic light and former loft door in south gable end.

Interior not inspected.

A single-bay single-storey brick addition at the north gable end, which has a set of part-glazed double doors with a cambered head in its east elevation, links Damson Tree Cottage with the barn and stable (qv).
