Monument obelisk. 1840 by G. Draper, builder G. Banks. White granite, bronze inscription tablets. Egyptionate obelisk on four step base. Four slightly stepped plinth with projecting central tapering single stone with tablet on face. Above Eygptian cornice, three steps to 20m needle. Erected in memory of Admiral Sir Harry Burrard Neale of Walhampton, MP for Lymington. Obelisk lines up with axis of Lymington High Street and forms the end of a vista from Church of St Thomas at top of street. G Draper of Chichester is also the architect of the Eyre Coote Monument in Rockbourne.
