I visited the farm a few years ago with a friend. It was a moving experience for me as the present owners were happy to invite us into the lounge. Eerie for me to know the building was owned by my maternal ancestors, the Thompson family. My mother was Sylvia Thompson, her Father (my Grandfather) was Archibald Thompson. My Grandad died knowing nothing of this history which is of much sadness to me as he would have been so very interested! I have no idea how the farm went from being owned by the Thompsons to someone else. My Grt Grt Grt Grandparents, Henry and Maria Thompson both died at the farm and are buried in St Nicholas Church graveyard nearby. I visit every year and tidy up the graves which have long since been left unmaintained. My friend and I spent many hours cutting away the overgrowth to actually reveal the graves. My Grt Grt Grt Grt Grandparents Joseph and Mary Thompson are buried next to them. I wish I could find out the line of owners of the farm from the Thompsons (verified by census) to the present day (July 2020). If you can assist me at all I would be eternally grateful.
