21 Larchwood

Summer House. Circa 1870s. Timber frame on coursed ashlar
base; Gabled tile roof. Single chamber. Deeply overhanging
eaves on shaped brackets to entrance front. Central round-
headed doorway flanked by similar windows, all with shaped
pendant wooden keyblocks. The building is notable for
containing a complete set of Minton & Hollins decorative tiles
that survive intact to internal walls. Medalion to rear wall.
A rare example of a fully tiled summerhouse. The attribution
of the design to Ruskin has not been confirmed.
