Originally a workhouse subsequently a drill hall, a County Court and now 3 houses.
C18. Red brick with sandstone dressings and slate roof. 2 storeys, 9 bays, the
middle 3 and end 2 in pedimented projections with modillion cornices and oculi.
Sandstone quoins, band between floors and plinth. Recessed 16-pane sashes with
gauged brick arches. Single cambered doorcases with rectangular fanlights and 6-
panelled doors. The side elevation to Almoners has 2 late C18 cross casement
windows with pintle hinges and diamond leaded lights.
