I'm doing some research into the local area. The land was still listed as an asset of community value on 19th February 2019 from a title deed search , but is being auctioned by the council - now 3 times for a developer to take over the building taking into account it's Grade II listed status. i'm also interested in the fact that the proprietor of the land dates to 1753 around the time of the First Duke of Newcastle , so am making enquiries with Durham land registry and TW Archives re this. I have also approached the three labour councillors for the area , planning and policy at the council but not had any info back yet.
