BARTON ON THE HEATH SP2532 10/19 The Rectory 13/10/66 (Formerly listed as The Old Rectory)

GV II

House, formerly rectory. Mid C18. Brick in Flemish bond to front with chamfered stone plinth, moulded stone storey band and moulded modillion stone eaves cornice. Coursed limestone rubble to rear. Stone-slate roof with brick end stacks. Central-staircase plan. 2 storeys plus attic; 5-window range of 12-pane sashes with moulded stone sills and cambered brick lintels with stone keyblocks. Part-glazed panelled door with fanlight to centre with moulded stone surround and approached by 3 stone steps. 3 gabled dormers. To left and right of main range a C18 stone range each with coped gables to front and (:20-tile and stone-slate roofs. Each range is of 2 storeys, with a sash window with moulded stone surround and keyblock to each floor. 2-storey catslide range to rear has an 18-pane horizontal sliding sash both to first floor, and in stone gabled range to rear left. Further stone gabled range to rear right. Interior not inspected but likely to be of interest. (V.C.H.: Warwickshire, Vol.V, p.13).
