(south side)

10/31 Old Rectory

GV II

House. C18 on site of, and possibly incorporating, part of rectory
built c1584. Coursed limestone rubble, stone slate roof. Main
block of 3 bays, with added forward wing of later C18 or early C19
on left. Large ashlar quoins and window jambs with timber lintels
in earlier work. Entrance in 2-storey block in re-entrant angle
having 12-pane sashes to first floor. Wide 6-panel door and later
C20 canopy. Timber casement windows.
Interior has chamfered ceiling beams, and remains of a malting
kiln. In gable, now internal datestone of 1584 and initials of
Thomas Aubrey, vicar.
