1899. The first building erected under the Baths and Washhouses Acts of Queen Victoria. Red brick with white stone banding to upper floor, ground floor rendered and painted. Coped brick parapet, slate roof. Two storeys, seven windows, sashes in architrave surrounds, those of ground floor with pediments. All windows with glazing bars. Double arched doorway with keystones and three-light window with mullions and transom between. Entablature with cornice and architrave extends overall. Frieze above each door contains decorative moulding with small figures holding name panels.

One storey western extension, two-light and semi-circular windows. Louvred cupola. Eastern facade has decorative shield with date panel in gable end. Doorway supports a two storey oriel bay with round window above door and two-light window above. Modillion cornice. Below oriel, massive brackets and cornice with carved angels in return. Stone banding.

The former Cheshire Street Baths form a group with the Robert Montefiore School (Annexe), Ramsey Street.
