The " Free Grammar School of Queen Elizabeth at Wakefield " was established by Royal Charter in 1591. The school moved to its present home in Northgate in 1855. (See Queen Elizabeth Grammar School). The building is to be incorporated into the new Trinity Walk development, one of Wakefield’s regeneration schemes
