TOTTERIDGE VILLAGE N20
No 54 (The Priory, Priory Cottage and Beam Ends)

(Formerly listed as The Priory Cottage (No 34) and The Priory)

GV
II

Probably C17 house, altered early and late C19. Timber framed and rendered with an
old tile roof. Two storeys, 3 gables to main part, but considerably extended.
Randomly placed windows of different dates, some Gothic, some leaded casements, some
sashes with glazing bars. The rear elevation is more ancient in appearance, with a
stair turret and a tall brick chimney with clustered flue. Interior much altered but
has an open well stair, now boxed in. C10 panelling and fireplaces. Brick and tile
outbuildings to the east.
