LONG WHATTON GRIMES GATES SK 4424-4524 (Diseworth) 12/176 Barn approximately 10 metres to south of Old GV Hall Farmhouse II
Small barn, now used as cattle shed. Probably C16 in origin, of cruck construction, but much rebuilt C19-C20. Externally rebuilt in brick, with cruck truss partly exposed in left gable. C20 corrugated asbestos roof. 4 bays. C20 2-light window to left, stable door in second bay, 2 slatted windows to third bays right bays open to front. 3 cruck trusses in all, one truncated at collar level. Ties are missing as are some collars. Post and tie-beam frame at right end. Roof structure is completely C20.
