TF 18 NE SIXHILLS VICARAGE LANE

3/32 Mill Platt Farm-
house,

II

Farmhouse. C18 with C19 alterations. Coursed limestone rubble
with ashlar quoins and brick dressings. Pantile roof with 2
gable and one brick ridge stacks. 3 unit plan with rear service
wing. 2 storey with garret, 4 bay front having brick dentillated
eaves course. Off centre half glazed door covered by mid C19
yellow brick porch with wooden cornice and flat lead roof, with
to left one and to right 2 tripartite glazing bar sashes with
segmental brick heads. To first floor are 3 tripartite windows
and a single sash, all with timber lintels. To right is a single
storey stone extension with a fixed light. Interior retains
early C19 stair with alternate plain and turned balusters and
wreathed handrail. The softwood roof is of clasped purlin
construction. Sometimes called Manor Farmhouse.
