The north aisle is early Norman, the easternmost arch decorated with shallow chevron carving not on the other two north aisle arches. The floor slopes 2 feet between the eastern and westernmost pillars. Note the herringbone Saxon stone work, dated 950 - 1100. The south aisle was added 150 years after the north aisle. The Chancel and Tower were added at the same time. 50 years later the clerestory was added.
