Pair of cottages. c1840 in the Gothick style. Coursed limestone rubble, with
fishscale tile roof with pronounced curvy barge boards, and a pair of octagonal
brick ridge stacks. Single storey plus attic. 5 bay south front with central
pointed doorway with plank door, and either side two pointed windows with Y
tracery frames. All these openings have plain, bold rubble surrounds. Above
2 gabled dormers also with Y tracery frames and casements. Built for
John Wm Wing of Ashby Hall.
