Leicester Town Arms, recorded in 1619. Gules a cinquefoil pierced ermine. Crest, On a wreath of the colours A Wivern sans legs strewed with wounds gules, wings expanded ermine. (This depiction of the wivern has legs, and the wings strewed with wounds gules) (Photo Aug 2008).
