Farmhouse, probably early C18, with C19 addition to rear (not included in
the item). Rendered brick with stone plinth and stone dressings, slate
roof. Double-pile 2-bay plan. 2 storeys, symmetrical, with gable chimney
stacks, that on the right external and buttress-shaped. Ground floor has
3 sashed windows, the left one wider, 1st floor centre window blocked,
others top-hung casements, all windows have glazing bars and stone sills.
Interior: housepart has stone fireplace with shouldered jambs and slightly
arched head, chimney breast has pair of large projecting stone brackets at
ceiling level, supporting a bressummer beam ovolo-moulded at the ends but
with plain centre section jointed in at the brackets; ovolo moulded
bridging beams in housepart and in kitchen; one ground floor door and two
1st floor doors have shouldered panels; dog-leg staircase with C17-type
splat balusters. Roof, raised in C19, includes earlier central truss and
purlins. Original position of entrance not known.
