SD 56 SE ROEBURNDALE

4/56 Lower Haylot Farmhouse (formerly listed
4-10-1967 as Haylotts Farmhouse Lower Haylott)
- II

House, 1724. Sandstone rubble with roof of slate at front and stone slate
at rear. Double-depth plan. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Windows have glazing bars
and rebated and chamfered surrounds. The left-hand one on the ground floor
was formerly of 4 lights and has one central mullion remaining. The
right-hand one was formerly of 3 lights and now has one central mullion;
the right-hand lst floor window is similar. The other 1st floor windows
were originally of 2 lights. The door, in the central bay, has a
single-storey gabled porch which has a small window with plain reveals
above a door with plain reveals. The inner door has a moulded surround
with battlemented lintel inscribed: '17 RTE 24', with further inscriptions
at the outer sides. Gable chimneys. At the rear are 5 2-light windows with
chamfered mullions, including a stair window.
