Faces No 11 with narrow passage between. Late C17 red brick. 2 storeys,
4 windows, one blocked. Hipped old tile roof. Good heavy modillion
cornice. One dormer. Brick capped gable end to Pyle Street. Doorway
in passage has a fine moulded shell hood on elaborate wood brackets and
a good moulded wool frame, with a 3 panel fanlight. A later side door has
a small cornice and traceried rectangular fanlight. Small rectangular
stone panel over main door with inscription "WIE "God's Providence in
my inheritance", 1701"l. Front to St Thomas's Square is cement rendered,
and has a particularly good early C18 double bowed shop window with
central door, with a delicately moulded cornice and reeded frames. The
door is modern with a delicately traceried rectangular fanlight. Interior
has fine original staircase, some panelling and contemporary fireplaces. A.M.
