Ice house. Probably late C18 or early C19. Red brick with coursed
sandstone rubble flanking entrance. Rectangular plan. Rubble retaining
walls flanking segmental entrance arch leading to low doorway. Barrel-
vaulted interior with entrance high up to north. Low earth mound above.
The ice house stands on the northern slope of Acton Burnell Hill and to
the south-west of Shadwell Lake within the park of Acton Burnell Hall
(q.v.).
