GV II

House. Early C19. Red brick in Flemish bond. Slate roof. 2 storeys
and attic, on brick plinth. Plat band, thin stone eaves band, and plain
parapet with thin stone coping band. End bays of uneven length and
slightly recessed. Roof hipped to left and right. Central section also
hipped. Rear stacks to right and left of central section. Ridge stack
to left recessed bay. 5 segmental-headed dormers. Irregular fenestration
of 5 recessed sashes with splayed rubbed brick voussoirs and stone cills;
symmetrical central section of two 16-pane and central 12-pane sashes,
and one 12-pane sash to each recessed bay. 2 canted bays with leaded
roofs to ground floor of central section. Central half-glazed and panelled
recess, with segmental fanlight. Doorcase with fluted Doric half-columns,
triglyphed frieze and flat hood. Doorcase said to cover a bootscraper
dated 1820. Interior not inspected.
