GV II

Cottage. Late C17 with later additions and alterations. Roughly coursed
limestone rubble; straw thatch roof. One storey and attic. 4 eyebrow eaves
dormers with 2-light leaded casements and similar windows directly below. C20
gabled stone porch to left of right window has bowed half-glazed outer door and
boarded inner door. Central ridge stack has semi-circular bread oven projection
with clay tile roof to rear. Single-storey ranges to left and right, also
thatched, have inner leaded casements and outer fixed-light windows, right also
with integral end stack. Interior. Inspection not possible at time of resurvey
(August 1987) but likely to be of interest. Very similar in plan-form and
appearance to the adjacent Sarsden Cottage (q.v.).
