(2) To the South of the Church of St Peter's-le-Bailey is Hannington Hall
(the surviving part of the Old New Inn Hall) which is used as the dining-
hall and Junior common room. It was formerly known as Cramer's building
of circa 1833, the architect being Thomas Greenshields of Oxford and erected
by Dr J A Cramer, Principal of New Inn Hall, 1831-47. It was remodelled
in 1879 to form a hall in memory of James Hannington, Bishop of Eastern Equatorial
Africa, and a parochial school built behind it. Both these passed to St Peter's
College in 1928. The school was then moved and Hannington Hall became the
dining hall of St Peter's College. 2-storeyed Bath ashlar front with 4 pilaster
strips, dentilled cornice, parapet and mullioned and transomed windows. Altered 1971
