Former parish church now redundant. Late C15 and early C16. Flint with
stone and brick dressings. Slate roof to nave and plain tile to chancel.
West tower, nave and chancel. South porch. East vestry. 3 stage tower
with diagonal buttresses. West door with 2-centre arch, carved spandrels
and shield frieze above. 2 3-light windows and square traceried sound holes
above. Crenellated parapet. 4 bay nave C.1490 with 4-light Perpendicular
windows having 2-centre arches. 2 storied porch:- outer doorway with
attached shafts and a 2-centre arch with spandrels. 2-light window above
doorway. The east window on the north side of the nave is partly blocked
by a semi-octagonal rood turret of C.1510. 2 bay chancel C.1510 with flat
intersecting tracery beneath 4-centre arch. 4-light Perpendicular east
window with 2-centre arch. 2 storied vestry with 2 3-light and 2 2-light
lancet windows beneath square heads. Central statue niche. Tower arch
and tall wide chancel arch with attached shaft and 2-centre arch. Nave roof:-
butt-purlin with the tower attached, arch-braces springing from wall-posts.
Tomb of Richard Berney, 1623, in chancel:- 2 recumbent figures beneath canopy
supported by 4 columns. Arms of Hobart and Berney above. Victorian screen
to chancel has reset C15 tracery and figures.
