Barn Immediately North North East of the Cottage at Combe Home Farm

Barn. Circa early C18. Weatherboarded timber-frame on brick plinth with gable-ended roof clad in corrugated sheet steel. PLAN: 3-bay barn with central midstrey and aisle on north side. Another bay with a loft was added to the east end later in the C18. EXTERIOR: Hipped midstrey to right of centre on north side with main roof to left and right carried down as catslides over aisles. INTERIOR: 3-bay frame with jowled posts with straight braces to tie-beams and arcade-plate. Queen-strut trusses with collars diminished principals and clasped purlins. Common-rafter-couples intact, but wind-braces missing. Wall-framing consists of posts, straight tension-braces, long studs, but no rails. Added east bay has loft.
