Hunslet Baptist Tabernacle, Low Road Hunslet Leeds

Now another odd old building at the side of a main road, this was once at the heart of a
community and dense housing.
The Author, Journalist Keith Waterhouse was born nearby:- "I was born at No 17 Low Road next to the receiving office for Beeston Laundry and two doors from the Hunslet Baptist Tabernacle. Low Road, now largely urban desert, was one of the tram-rattling arteries running from the city centre, all of them lively thoroughfares line with ironmongers' shops, newsagents adn tobacconists, small grocers, family butchers, fish and chip shops, pawnshops, public houses without number, breweries, foundries, obscure little factories and workshops and countless sooty redbrick terraces.
