Bank, now computer salesrooms. Late C19, altered C20. By William Bakewell. For London, City and Midland Bank. Ashlar, slate roof. 2 storeys with attics, prominent corner site, 2 bays with canted corner entrance, 4 bays with former entrance to chambers right. Eclectic Classical style. Recessed glazed double doors in wide moulded archway with keystone and console brackets, paired oval lights above; more modest doorway far right with single oval light. Corner bay 1st-floor window in architrave with scrolled pediment, deep eaves cornice with carved stone brackets, clock turret with scrolled base, pedimented gabled clock faces, ogee dome with ball finial. Ground-floor windows are 3-light mullion and 2 transoms, in round-arched recesses, sill moulding, 1st-floor string, 3-light mullion and transom windows to 1st floor with pediments over, pedimented dormer windows, tall banded stacks. INTERIOR: not inspected. The building was illustrated in 'The Architect' magazine c1880-90.
