Hollin Hill House

II

House, now 3 flats. Early C19, converted C20. 2 storeys, 3
bays with recessed bay right. Ashlar, hipped stone slate roof.
Garden front: central doorway with architrave and cornice,
6-panel door and fanlight. Former sash windows now with
cross-frame casements. Rear: end bays project as cross wings,
added porch and outshut; central staircase window,
round-headed, sash panes have frosted glass with painted
armorial shields, coats of arms, Classical statues and motto:
'FORTRIS IN ARDUIS'.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Reputed to have been the home of the Aykroyd family.
