Shop and offices. 1905, altered C20. By HA Chapman. Faience,
slate roof. Baroque Revival style.
4 storeys; corner site with 2 gabled bays to main facade,
rounded corner bay surmounted by a turret and a wide gabled
bay flanked by narrower bays to left return. Ground floor:
later C20 shop facade following original divisions; first and
2nd floors: canted bay windows with pilasters, narrow flanking
single-light windows in rusticated architraves. Heavy
modillion cornice over 2nd floor. Balconied large semicircular
3rd-floor attic windows above, with rusticated arches, 2
panelled gables above with small pediments at apexes. Left
return: cornice continues, tall stone mullion windows, wide
gable. Corner tower: 2 oval windows high on 2nd floor in
architraves with swags, banded rustication to turret window
pilasters, consoles, cornice and dome.
