Weir and Retaining Walls on River Aire

A Grade II Listed Building in Horsforth, Leeds

Newlay Weir, Horsforth, Leeds

Uploader's Comments

High river levels in February 2021 found a chink in the old weir and eventually tore a gap in the middle. The seventeenth century internal construction of the weir (and, some believe, a possible underlying original twelfth-century construction) is now revealed.
