Gate piers, gates and railings to Roundhay Park

Gateway to Roundhay Park. c1872. Ashlar piers, wrought-iron
gates and railings. 3 pairs of piers, all with pilaster
quoins, deep cornice and square capstone surmounted by
wrought-iron scrolled finials. Elaborately scrolled double
gates have central panel with Leeds coat of arms, pedestrian
gates similar. Railings have scrolled middle and top rails,
ball finials.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Roundhay Park and Mansion were bought by Leeds Corporation and
opened as a place of public recreation in 1872.
