Shop and warehouse, later restaurant, now wine bar. c1900. For Phillipson and Golder in the manner of John Douglas. Red Ruabon brick; red-brown clay tile roof. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys plus attic. The ground floor has end-piers and 3 intermediate piers with roll-mould arrises; from left to right a door of 6 fielded panels with 1-pane overlight, 3 shop windows with small panes below transom and leaded glazing above and a segmental-arched opening with door of 6 fielded panels in plaster-panelled screen; lean-to canopy over left door and shop windows has grey-green slate roof on shaped brackets. The upper storey in Germanic manner has steep roof with small high-set dormers. The roof sweeps down to front eaves above 4 bays with mullioned and transomed windows, some leaded, and a pair of loading-doors with a hoist-arm above; the eaves are jettied above all but the left bay; the 3 central bays have tile-hung gables, the loading-bay a hipped roof. The rear has a continuous 1-storey brick outshut with lean-to roof, above which are 2 broad plaster-panelled timber-framed gables, each with a full-width mullioned casement, part small-paned, part leaded. A 4-light small-pane casement in tile-hung attic between the gables. INTERIOR not inspected.
