House. Circa late C15 or early C16, remodelled early C19. Timber-frame faced in red brick. Low-pitched slate roof with gabled ends. Brick stack on front left-hand corner. PLAN: 2-room plan with entrance passage on right; the two rooms now one. Probably originally a 2-bay open hall, floored and in early C19 remodelled and faced in brick. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys. 2-window front. 16-pane sashes with cambered brick arches; ground floor left canted bay window with similar sash and on second floor two smaller 2-light casements with glazing bars. Doorway on right with semi-circular fanlight with vertical glazing bars and panelled door. INTERIOR: The left room has large square joists halved onto the mid-rail of the left wall, but supported on the top of the mid-rail of the central partition. Queen-post roof trusses with large curved braces to the tie-beam and clasped purlins; smoke-blackening in roof. SOURCE: Information about the interior provided by Warwick District Council.
