Flemish bond brown brickwork with grey slate roof, ridge at right-angle to street, hipped to front. EXTERIOR: 4 storeys including street level and Row; 2 bays. Modern shopfronts to street. The Row front has brick end-piers and central pier, a tapered cast-iron Doric column at the centre of each bay and a simple cast-iron railing with stick balusters and plain rail; sloped boarded stallboard 2.22m from front to back; flagged Row walk; shopfronts in early C20 manner with panelled timber stallriser to Nos 53 & 55 and windows with slender moulded mullions, rounded upper corners to panes and carved spandrels; plaster ceiling to No.51 and panelled plaster ceiling to Nos 53 & 55; wood fascia to Row-top bressumer. Painted stone sills and cambered false wedge lintels to altered 2-pane recessed sashes, 2 to the third storey and 4 to the fourth storey; the third storey of Nos 53 & 55 has an altered inserted canted barge-pane timber oriel. Lateral chimney set back, north. INTERIOR: No.45 Street is a butcher's shop with early C20 tiling and office; other shops and the upper storeys have no visible features of special interest. Included for group value.
