This memorial (immediately to your right upon entry to the Church) shows two dates of death 1745 with a 6 entered above the 5. Apparently it is a reflection of the problems with the Julian Calendar before England moved to the Gregorian Calendar in 1752.
Not sure if it is true (the years seem a bit odd) but a better explanation than that he died twice!
