of Hoe Place

GV II

Chapel now store. c1850. Red brick, stone dressings with some terracotta,
plain tiled roofs hipped over the tower; Chapel projecting to left with square
tower set back to the rectangular right. Chapel in Gothic style, 7 bays with
with symmetrical front; 7 windows to front with panelled tracery some stained
glass surviving, 2 light on the first floor, trefoil cusping to the arched heads.
Diamond pattern frieze to top with billeted parapets. Arched central part
glazed doors. 3 storey tower to right with polygonal turret to south angle;
terracotta frieze and billeted parapet to top. Mixed fenestration with a ground
floor thermal window, traceried windows with hood mouldings to first and second
floors. Single storey bay to the right with an angle turret and billet mouldings
to the battlements.
