15 houses in terrace. Early C19. Yellow brick, some fronts appearing to have been rebuilt; stucco cornice and blocking course. Composition with stepped, 4-house ends to higher central section. Each house 3 storeys, 2 bays, Nos 262-276 with basements. Doors and ground-floor windows round-arched with stucco imposts, those to Nos 262-276 in shallow, round-arched recesses. Steps to doors with fluted quadrant pilasters (except Nos 254, 258, 280 & 282, and cornice heads. Decorative fanlights to Nos 256, 258, 266, 268 & 274. Door to No.254 in later extension to right. Flat, gauged-brick arches to 1st- and 2nd-floor sash windows with glazing bars; 1st-floor sill band and cast-iron window guards (except Nos 256 & 276-282). INTERIOR: not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: wrought-iron area railings and handrails.
