Guard House West and Store

GV II*

Guard house and store. Mid C19. Rendered with timber columns, roof not visible. Single-depth plan.
EXTERIOR: single storey; 4-bay range. Plinth, cornice and parapet, with paired columns, and paired flat modillions to cornice; left-hand bays have outer doorways and central 3/3-pane sashes, projecting mid-late C19 middle section with tripartite window with 2/2-pane sash, and 1-window right-hand section. Left-hand return has a pair of 6-pane windows and panels beneath. Rear has unpainted brick walls between columns with sunken panels. INTERIOR: plain, now used as store.
HISTORY: part of a fine and complete group of Georgian dockyard buildings.
