Grave slabs and cross. c1933. Granite. 2 rectangular inscribed
slabs on raised base; right hand with rough hewn Celtic cross
on an inscribed plinth. HISTORICAL NOTE: John Galsworthy was a
novelist and playwright, and was awarded the Nobel Prize for
literature. Although the Galsworthy family grave, it is a
monument only to John Galsworthy who was cremated and had his
ashes scattered over the Sussex Downs.
